Underwater photographs made on recreational dives

I am a recreational diver based in Frankfurt am Main. I take a camera on dives in German lakes, the Baltic, and sometimes warmer water, and I offer prints, licensing, talks, and portfolio reviews on request.

About

Cold lakes, a camera and a buddy

I started diving in cold German lakes and began taking a camera along because it gave me something to do during long safety stops. Most of my diving is local: lakes around Frankfurt, weekends on the Baltic, and one or two sea trips a year when time and budget allow. I always dive with a buddy, and the camera never changes that.

Zeroshark is not a shop or an agency. It is a place to show a few photographs and to say what I can do if someone asks. This grew out of a hobby, and I prefer to keep it that way. If you want a print, a licence for a non-profit or school, a talk for a dive club, or a second pair of eyes on your own underwater photos, you can ask.

Work

What I can help with

Fine-art prints

Fine-art prints

Prints are made to order from selected photographs, usually on matte or fine-art paper. We can discuss size and paper, and I can point you to a local framer if needed. There is no online shop, so everything is arranged by message.

from €60, plus shipping
Image licensing

Image licensing

I license images for non-profit and educational use, such as school projects, club newsletters, and small displays. Commercial use is considered case by case. Please describe the intended use, duration, and audience.

Slide talks for dive clubs

Slide talks for dive clubs

I can give an evening talk for a dive club, usually about cold-water diving, local sites, or taking photographs without letting the camera take over the dive. Talks are informal and can be adapted to the club's interests. A projector and screen are helpful.

Portfolio reviews

Portfolio reviews

For beginner underwater photographers, I offer a friendly review of a small set of images. We can look at composition, lighting, and how you handle the camera in the water. The aim is practical feedback, not a score.

How it works

From request to delivery

Request

Send a message through a shared dive club or ask someone who already has a link to pass it on. Say what you are interested in: prints, licensing, a talk, or a review.

Details

We clarify size, use, date, or number of images, depending on the request. I will say what is possible and what is not.

Agreement

If it fits, we agree on the scope and any fee in writing. For prints, payment is usually by bank transfer before production.

Delivery

Prints are shipped or handed over locally, licences are sent as files, talks happen on the agreed date, and reviews are returned as notes or a call. I try to answer within a few days.

Questions

Asked often

Can I buy a print directly from this site?

No. There is no online shop. You can leave a message through a dive club we both belong to, or ask someone who already has a contact link to pass it on.

What sizes and papers do you offer for prints?

It depends on the image and the lab's current options. Common sizes are A4 and A3, on matte or fine-art paper. We can discuss what suits the photograph.

Do you license images for school or non-profit use?

Yes, for non-profit and educational projects. Please describe the project, audience, and how long the image will be used. Fees are on request and kept modest for small organisations.

Can you give a talk at our dive club meeting?

Yes, if the date and location work. Talks usually run 45 to 60 minutes with time for questions. I can bring a laptop and adapt the talk to the club.

What should I prepare for a portfolio review?

Choose 10 to 15 images you want to talk about, ideally from recent dives. If you can, include a few that did not work as intended. The review is informal and focused on practical next steps.

Do you work as a dive guide or take people diving?

No. I am a recreational diver and photographer, not a guide or commercial operator. I only take photographs for my own work and for the requests described here.
