First lake dive after winter

The first local lake dive of the year is always a gear check as much as a dive. The drysuit held up, the regulator was fine, and the camera housing stayed dry. I kept the dive shallow and short because the cold takes some getting used to again.
Below the surface, the lake was still in its winter mood. There was little plant growth and the light fell away quickly. A single perch stayed near the platform, curious but not close enough for a careful frame.
I came back with two images I might keep and a reminder that cold water asks for patience. The next dive will be easier now that the first one is done.
